The upgrades you are talking about are the most important ones and bring the most return for your investments. Be careful not to over improve for the market conditions. You will never get 100% of the cost of any improvement. Keep an eye on how long you will be in the home and are they improvements that will add value or just ones you would like. I would start by looking at what the current homes like yours are selling for and then after you receive your bids for the work see if you will be able to recoup a good % of the investment.

Hi Rita, thanks for asking your question. It's always a challenge trying to understand how and what of remodelling. I suggest that you speak to a few licensed contractors and get estimates of what it would cost to do the upgrades you have in mind. Is this property that's on the market?
