Coventry township is not part of Akron. It has its own school system and township trustees
i hope somebody can answer my last couple of questions.
thank you
what is...........the county seat of summit county????????
i know all that. but they live there now, which happened when the rule was in effect.
yes it was near coventry crossing. so this was coventry, but now it is akron?
if it is akron, then why isn't in the akron school system?
the city insisted the employees live in akron, but then to get around that rule, the city bought a part of coventry and made it akron to comply with the rule?
can anybody live there, or just employees?
thanks
Hi Cindy, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled this week that City of Akron employees can live anywhere now. Before, they could not live in Coventry. Maybe you were near Coventry Crossing which is in Akron. The city annexed parts of Coventry in 2000 so they could build newer homes for employee's of Akron. Hope this helps.
obviously the summit county one and not cleveland.
I THOUGHT IT WAS SEPARATE TOO, BUT THEN I SAW RECALL SIGNS IN THE YARDS TO RECALL THE AKRON MAYOR.
ALSO, THAT RULE IN AKIRON THAT MAKES EMPLOYEES LIKE POLICE AND FIREMEN LIVE IN AKRON. I HEAR THEY CAN LIVE IN COVENTRY. WELL HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE IF COVENTRY IS IT'S OWN TOWN?
Hi Cindy, Coventry is not part of Akron. They have their own school district as well. They are part of the JEDD and get their water from Akron.
Are you referring to Coventry Township located in Summit county or Coventry located in Cleveland Heights?
Covernty Township Info:
Coventry Township is located in southern Summit County. At its creation, it bordered the following townships:
Portage Township - north
Springfield Township - east
Green Township - southeast
Franklin Township - southwest
Norton Township - west
However, due to annexations, it currently borders the following township and cities:
Akron - north
Springfield Township - east
Green - southeast
New Franklin - southwest
Barberton - west
Several populated places are located in the original bounds of Coventry Township:
Part of the city of Akron, the county seat of Summit County, in the north
Part of the city of Barberton, in the west
The census-designated place of Portage Lakes, in the center
Hope this helps!
Lindsey :-)
