Husband worked 10 yrs as driver, but left to become miner-Are we going to have to wait 2 years in this field to buy since initially it was a pay cut?

He was making about 45k a year as a driver, but had no benefits for the family, so he left his job to become a coal miner. He had to start off through a contractor making next to nothing, but by his 1 year mark early next year, he should be making 45-50k again. The problem is that 2012's tax forms are going to be severely lacking in comparison to 2011. Will that hinder us from buying a house next year? Are we going to have to wait till 2014 to buy because of his job change?

Your best bet is to meet with a local and trusted loan officer, they can prequailify you at no cost and let you know. It will depend on your whole finanical picture and how much you have to put down, as to what type of mortgages you quaiuloify for as to what the criteria are.
