I live in Australia but my parents live in Montreal. We would like to take advantage of the strong Aussie dollar and the weak housing market in the US-and would therefore like to buy a little holiday cottage for the family. Hopefully we could buy with cash. Everything I see on these sites is for full houses. What I'm looking for is a basic cottage but the lakefront and the general setting most important. Please help.
Hello Erict, I don't know if you are still interest in property in the Adirondacks, but if you are, we have the best of both worlds! We are located between the north end of the Queen of American lakes, Lake George and the beautiful Lake Champlain (you can go around the world from Lake Champlain). Please take a look at our website http://www.century21adirondacks.net. Of course we are a MLS office and we do sell all other Real Estate company's listings also, so you can contact me if you see anything else on the market. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, I would love to talk with you. Thank you, Edna "Ed" Zeyak, edzeyak@msn.com
Hi Erict
What about Fern Lake about 1/2 hour closer to Montreal than Lake Placid. We have listed 3 properties there and 2 of them are year round as opposed to 3 season which many are. You can go to our company website to see them: http://www.lakeplacidrealestate.com
The prices are $295,000 and $495,000.
I come to Montreal often as I have a flat there. Do you want to meet there?

Erict, the waterfront prices have been reducing on some of the area lakes. the inventory is up, so you have alot to choose from. some sellers are willing to listen to offers and make a deal at this uncertain time. You can find cabins & Lake front from the 300k range to 750k range on very nice settings and pristine lakes. Cash is king! so sellers do like to deal with buyers with cash. good luck with your search, if you have any other questions, just shoot an email; mike@century21highpeaks.com
