A few days is appropriate.
If has been weeks, call the Listing agent, or the Broken and be firm.
You can certainly take it down and set it next to your garage; but that may give you ownership of the sign when the company come by to pick it up and don't see it.

Good luck and may God bless

The listing agent should schedule the sign to be removed immediately after closing. It may take the company that handles the removal a few days, but there is no 'legal' period for the sign to remain.

Up to the closing day, the seller and his/her agent has right to put up the "Sale" sign. But after the closing, it is buyer's property and everything on the property belongs to the new owner, including the "Sale" sign.

So it is up to the new owner to decide what to do with the sign.... New owners normally take down the sign, put it down near the curb for the agent to pick it up.

What happens as soon as the closing takes place....usually the next day the listing office calls the sign company to pick up the sign. It may take a week. But call your agent to call the listing agent to remind them to get it

Hi Joimarie,

The for sale sign should be removed by the listing agent since the home sale was settled/completed and you are the new owner of the property.
You may want to call the listing agent to have it picked up asap.
You can remove the sign and keep it with you for the listing agent to pickup.

Unless the buyer, ie, new owner of the home has given permission, the sign should not be on the property for a second post close.

I would agree that if you are the buyer of a home and the sign has not been picked up, call the listing agent and ask that it be removed immediately. If you are able, remove it if you are able and place by your garage for pick up.
