How long do I have to wait after a Deed in Lieu of foreclosure to get a new mortgage? Our property was transferred back to the bank in 11/ 10.

We have since recovered, have a decent credit score considering the bankruptcy and deed in lieu, have 2 stable jobs again and can come up with a down payment. We need to have a mortgage again because we are getting killed in income taxes and want to take advantage of this market. Do we really have to wait until November of 2013?

They usually say two years for DIL but the only way to know for sure is ask a lender to pull your credit scores and check with an underwriter.

If you would call my office I can refer you to the VP of M&T bank.

My offiice is open from 9AM to 8PM every day. 845-255-0019
