How is the taxes in San Diego?

When you buy a house there, how much is the city taxes? I live in Newark-NJ and we are planing to move to CA.

Hi Ana,

The property taxes in San Diego County are generally 1% of the value of the home. Sometimes there are some infrastructure taxes for new communities called Mello Roos, they can add an addition 0.25%. So the total with Mello Roos would be 1.25% maxiumom.

Never low enough! They vary by area, but overall..they are about 1.25% of sales price. Then you might have other fees.
