r8ocean,

In addition to checking with the local police department for crime statistics, as my collegue Barbara suggested, my clients have found the website CrimeReports.com as a great starting point.

The condo you are interested in is indeed located on the ground floor. Here is a link to my website that provides more information than Trulia: http://luxurylivingfortlauderdale.com/homes-for-sale-details…

I hope this is helpful!

Hi,

Go to http://flpd.org/index.aspx?page=58 which is the Ft Lauderdale crime statistic or go to the Broward County Crime Commission http://www.browardcrime.org/crimestatistics.html to get more accurate reports.

However, keep in mind that, now-a-day, crime is everywhere, even in the most upscale neighborhoods of the US but it is all about prevention--if that unit #5 is on a first floor, for piece of mind, install a burglar alarm and for about $30.00 a month you can have it monitored by professionals. The other day, I saw at Lowes a demonstration video in one of their isles from Honeywell which has a nifty total security package with a software that lets you monitor and even see what is going on in your house from your cell phone. You can even regulate the temperature from anywhere in the world. That might be something that you want to invest in.

I suggest to all of my clients that have concerns to call the local police department and talk to someone. Primarily, ask about the crime rate in regards to drugs and larceny rates.
