Japantown is one of the better parts of downtown to buy a condo.

Japan town is a great area of downtown San Jose. Convenient to restaurants, light rail and the airport. There is a diverse group of neighbors as mentioned below. Some of the newer developments have really sparked growth in the area. The only thing to be aware of is that you are pretty close to the landing flight path for the airport. I would walk around the neighborhood and get a feel for the area. I have clients living in Japan town and they love it.

Japantown is a good choice and there are several condos available right off of 7th Street just south of Taylor Street. The units are very nice and of course you have plenty to choose from. I have been through these units and would highly recommend. You have a wide variety of folks living in these homes from students, to famillies and SJSU profs. It a great time for you to buy!

The area around Japan town is an excellent area. Most of the condos are new and represent an excellent value for the features offered. Most are within walking distance to great restaurants and a few more blocks to the light rail. Easy access to freeways. All in all a great place for a first home that is focused on urban living.
