Schenectady High School has a mixed reputation in terms of safety. There is, however, a wide variety of highly-rated opportunities available - the International Baccalaureate program is outstanding (and not available at Niskayuna). The fine arts and dance department have nationally recognized programs. Check out the district website at http://www.schenectady.k12.ny.us Since you are local, call the district office and ask to speak with the Parent Liason for specific information and to set up a tour. Good luck!

I actually went to Mont Pleasant High School ( Schenectady High is a Combination of Mont Pleasant and Linton when they combined the two) I do have to say that you should always check with http://www.greatschools.org http://www.schooldigger.com to see what information you may find... You can also go visit the school and talk with administrators, teachers, etc, If School is in session, that will give you a very good idea of what goes on as well.... but do your homework and get unbiased opinions.

Niskayuna Central School is very highly rated in Schenectady County.

Schenectady High School is not part of the Niskayuna School District. It would be very misleading to follow your direction.
