Trulia Denver,

I have been across the country and been amazed at the poor quality of the tap water. Denver's water has a good taste, clarity and is consistently rated among the best in the nation. But then again I think the whole bottled water movement is overrated and the problem of the removal of the plastic bottles is a real problem.

I personally can't stand it. I have a water purification system for the whole house. People call it "mountain water" but there is a lot of ranching in the area. The chemicals they have to add to clense it taste bad. http://ecowaterofindiana.com/products.php

Thank you for the heads up. I will definitely be investing in a water purification system. I am moving from Sarasota, and our water was extremely hard. I put up with it for years, but I finally ready for clean water. I am turning over a new leaf with this move, and my water intake is a fantastic place to start.

A filter is never a bad idea, but you may also want to consider testing your water if you are ever unsure. Mountain water is typically fine. But you never know if something could be in your pipes or fixtures. Better safe than sorry.

It can also be a good idea to get a home water filter. It will not only improve your water quality, but also improve the taste as well. There is nothing better than a cold glass of water that tastes fresh and pure.

I agree that mountain water is typically fine, but having things filtered never hurts. I would look into a vibrating screen that can sift through minerals and other particles or contaminants in the water. This could be an easy option that ensures healthy drinking water.

Did you know Pepsico currently has a water bottling plant here in Denver? I believe under the brand name Aquafina, the water used is purified from our Denver public water source.

Personally, I believe Denver's tap water is very delicious yet there are certain areas of the city where the taste varies at times. Overall, I enjoy drinking Denver's tap water (and it's far more tasty than most U.S. metropolitan cities' public water). It's definitely a healthier choice for you than drinking a soda!!

I think it's pretty good. If you don't trust it then you can buy a personal water filter. They even have ones that remove fluoride if that is a worry of yours. I have used a personal water filter for years and am very pleased with them.

I stopped drinking tap water years ago. Visit http://www.FindASpring.com and locate a fresh water spring.

We all have our opinions, and most of them suggest Denver water is quite good. But rather than taking our word for it, check out the link below for some objective data.

Just as point of interest, but a lot of folks are not aware that most of the water in Denver and surrounding area comes from multiple sources. Accordingly, some of the mineral content and flavor can vary.

for the past 12 years I have been using tap water, no filters, all good, family healthy...

Not any worse than most cities. In fact, since Denver has several springs somewhat near, I would expect it to be quite good! Let us know!

I drink it everyday and so far I've been very healthy. I give it to my kids and my guests.

Denver's tap water is among the best in the country. I have a reverse osmosis system in my home but when they come out to service it every year they say the water tests great before it gets to the filter.

In my personal opinion I like Denver Water and I have lived here since 1979. I grew up in Pennsylvania and we had well water which was very good as well.. Most people do drink tap water in restaurant and their homes. Below is a link to Denver Water Reports. Hope you find this helpful. Good idea, posting it on your site, Rick. I do also use a water filter, because I don't want to ingest chlorine or flouride. I used to think tap water tasted great, but now that I'm accustomed to filtered water, the tap water tastes very different.

It's simply delicious! Seriously. I was concerned when I had my daughter that I shouldn't ever give her water from the tap but I did a lot of research on line and it says that Denver has some of the cleanest water in the nation. It's no surprise since we live in the Rocky Mountains, which is the source for some of the cleanest and refreshing water in the world!
