Your first step is to find a mortgage professional to get prequalified. It does not matter if its a broker or a lender, just find osmeone you trust. Best thing you can do is ask around and find someone who has done a good job in the past for a reasonable price for people you know. They can then tell you if are qualified to buy a home and then the two of you can come up with a price that you feel you can afford. Then find a real estate agent, use the same method you did to find a mortgage professional, find someone that is trustworthy and will work in your best interest. Not someone who wants to talk you into homes you can not afford so they get a bigger commission. They can then show you houses in your price range and all you have to do is find one you like. Its a process that does take a little bit of time, find people you trust and it will go a lot smoother

Your first step is to find a mortgage broker or bank in your area that you are comfortable with. You should ask your family, friends or neighbors who they have used and who they were happy with, a referral from a person is easier than picking from the yellow pages. Who ever you choose make sure you are comfotable, tell them what you are looking for and they should pre quailify you at no cost. Do not pay anyone any money upfront. Once you have been preapproved for a loan, you will know how much of a loan you can get, how much you need for a down payment and closing costs then you should hire a buyer broker who can assist you through each step of the buying process. if you need any assistanc eplease feel free to email me any questions. Good luck with your search.
