We're looking for a home in Pennsylvania, and we've found several homes online that we'd like to take a look at - but we'll only be in the area for about a week - What is it like to tour a home? How difficult is it to schedule? This will be our first home, and we live 1800 miles away from the place we'd like to purchase a home - so we would like to take advantage of being in the area!
It is a good idea to conatct just one agent who can coordinate all showings. If you know an agent in your home town ask the agent for a referral in this area . You can visit http://www.localism.com and find good agents who know the area . You can also look up http://www.activerain.com . If you do not have a referral , please interview 3 agents , look up their web sites etc. If you would like me to refer you to an agent please email me at gita01@aol.com or call 2153438206 .
Kristen,
You have some good advice here. I would search http://www.remax.com as well. You can go right to the specific city and area to find a strong agent.
Also, another great site to go to that includes all agents is http://www.activerain.com . That way you can search top agents who have individual blogs and you can a learn about them ahead of time !
Hi Kristen,
Shoot me an email and I will refer a local Penn. agent to contact you and schedule showings for the week that you are there. We at Coldwell Banker have a large referral network of highly qualified agents to assist you. Good luck in your search!

First I would like to congratulate you! What a great time it is to buy a home. You are so smart looking on line for a home first, if I were you and you don't know anyone in the area, you might want to see if any of the listings that interest you are listed by the same agent. This usually indicates the agent is known in the area. Another way, if you have a realtor at home, ask for a referral for an qualified agent in the area that you are looking in.
