How do I use my VA Home Loan?

Forrest Mills
Home Buyer

I'm thinking of moving to Mayfield Kentucky and would love to be able to take advantage of my VA Home Loan. I was not able to use it in the North California area. I have moved to Granite City, IL. I was going to look for a place here but I have people I know in Kentucky. I have never purchased a home before and could use some advice.

Hi Forrest,

VA home loans are fantastic! I'm a realtor and I used my VA loan benefits to purchase my own home. No down payment! To use this benefit you must get with a lender who can explain everything in detail but essentially you have to prove you're a veteran and apply for the benefit. When you've been approved the lender can get all their paperwork completed. You will need to provide a copy of your DD-214 to prove you were honorable discharged. This process may add a week or two onto the time necessary to close a home loan. We realtors want buyers to be pre-approved for a loan before we show houses - if you're not pre-approved there's no guarantee you can buy a home we show you.

If I can help you with homes in Mayfield let me know. I'm in Paducah. You can view homes from my web site - http://www.RealtorBillDunn.com I can refer you to some lenders in Mayfield as well.
