How do I find out how much the previous owners paid for my house six years ago?

I have been living in my house for 2 weeks now, and I am realizing that they previous owners put a lot of work into this house. I am just curious how much they paid for the house to begin with.

The way to find out is through your county tax records office unless it is disclosed on thier deed.

James,

This information can be obtained by referring to your county records department. In many locations this can be done on line.

You can go down to the PVA office in Etown and pull the Tax Record. It's free to the public to look at but they will charge for copies. The PVA office is located on the square in Etown right next to the County Clerks office.

You can try the county tax assessors office. The may have the sale price listed as a matter of public record.
