Most lenders, in an effort to help you answer your question will ask you the following questions: What amount per month are you comfortable paying? How much of a downpayment can you drop on a purchase? What is your monthly income? What is your credit score? Your answers to these questions will determine your price range. There are MANY bargains awaiting able buyers right now. If you plan to buy and hold, you should do really well in 5-7 years.

Contact a Real Estate Professional right away and they can put you in contact with several qualified lenders that can determine what your payments would be and if it's affordable.
