Contact a local Realtor. Real Estate Professionals have access to sold data via the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). I would be happy to assit, simply email the address to bay.jackson@coldwellbanker.com.

Elisha, a real estate agent can easily do a comparative market analysis for you during that time frame. If the house is in an established neighborhood, you should be able to have a fairly accurate estimate of what the home's value was. Of course, if it sold in 2001, you would know the sales price itself.

Hope this helps!

Sounds like you need a Realtor...find a Prudential Realtor who can run you some reports that show the trends from 2000 to now...it really helps sometimes because you can then better get an idea of the "bottom" of the specific market in a specific zipcode of a specific house type. I do this for buyers trying to understand the marketplace in parts of New Orleans.
