Sorry that some agents didn't call you back. I don't know why they didn't, but I'll tell you when you may not get a call back or a message from me:
1. can't understand the number you speak on the voicemail.
2. call my cell with blocked number plus #1.
3. I call back, and get a generic recording or a recording with a different person's name on it from the name you left on my voicemail and I don't get a return call when I leave a message there.
4. you call, I miss the call, and when I call back 5 seconds later it goes straight to voicemail and I don't get a return call.

Oskar, you can always try calling again. I've heard cell phone can actually drop calls in the middle, and even land lines can have static occasionally.

I am very sorry to hear several agents have not called you back. Most fulltime agents I know get back within a short time if they don't answer on the first call. This market has cause more agents to become part time and that is more likley the people you are calling.

Sorry that those agents haven't returned your calls. When some do that, it makes us all look bad. As you can tell from the many responses, there are hard working, professional agents out there that answer phone calls and give good service. You may want to consider working with a certified buyer representative who will work for you instead of the seller. I would certainly be available to assist you. I promise to return your call or email.

Oh Hum. Oskar - depends on the short list of agents you called. Expand your list - call more agents. You're buying in copaigue - very good. 631.831.9048 is my cell phone. My office is in West Islip.

Add me to your list. Forget those you've called.

In this business, a lot of agents, even today in this buyers market, are LISTING agents. They really don't specialize in and nor do they want to, work with buyers. They want listings and they pursue them solely.

That's just a short answer to your question. I'm here when you're ready.

Agents should return their calls, that is not good business practice.

I would have to disagree with the whole "part time" agent thing only returning calls on the weekend. I think it has to do with the personal committment or LACK that an individual has to providing customer service for their business and potential clients.

Committment and dedication.......are key.
I like what Carmen said, at least you know who you dont want to work with. GOOD LUCK......

If you did not receive a return phone call from several agents, it could have been that they did not understand your phone number. I would suggest you repeat it slowly and clearly when leaving messages as though someone on the other end is writing it as you speak it and say it twice. I can't tell you how many times I received a clear message and then the phone number was rushed and not clear at all.

I am surprised to hear you received no response with e-mails too. If your email address has an underscore in it, our MLS did not recognize it, but that was supposed to have been taken care of.

You may also have been working with part-time agents who are busy at their "real job" and only check their messages on weekends. A home purchase is too large and complex for an agent to work in their spare time. What happens when you need an inspection during the week and they aren't available for you?

I work in the Copiague area. If you would like to work with a full time Broker, feel free to contact me.

Are you calling listing agents to get info on a property? If so, find a buyer agent to work for you instead. Go to Open Houses or walk into a real estate office and interview an agent. There is no excuse for an agent not returning your calls. Look on the bright side, now you know who you do NOT want to work with.

I don't know what the agents are like in your area, but getting back to clients is a very important part of what we do. I would suggest trying to get a hold of agents that have a good track record of selling homes. To make sure your not trying to get a hold of someone that is in the bussiness part time.
