How is this not discriminatory?

There is always a section on your Verification of Employment called: Probability of Continued Employment.
Being that you have a 20 yr job history there should be no need for a "guarantee letter" from your employer.
Is this a VA loan? What lender are you using?
Please call or email me if I can be of any assistance.

That's a real big question without an answer in my opinion, particularly when Michigan is an "at will" employment state. So what if your employer says you are guaranteed a job for umteen years and then you lose the job or the company folds? That seems like an impossible condition to meet.

These are some strange times.

FIRST ANSWER

Yes, the underwriter can request a letter to testify to the status of future employment if either you are a recent graduate without a 2 year work history or if your prior work history is spotty.
