Hi Mike,

Athena is correct, but only of the home was sold on the MLS. Not every home for which you want information will be on the MLS, so a good back-up is, as Linda suggested, the registry of deeds.

You can also search tax records where often the purchase price and even mortgage amount is listed.

Good luck!

Mike,

Go to your local registry of deeds. This is usually in the county court house. There you will find all the recorded transactions by address.

Best of Luck,

The best way to find the answer to the sale price of a home is to ask a Realtor. Why? In addition to knowing the actual sale price, your Realtor will be able to give you the history of the sale (original list price, number of days on the market, the condition of the home and if there were any terms in the sale that affected the price).
