It depends on what you mean by "not so expensive". Vienna is a highly desirable area to live and therefore home prices are on the high side there.

I did a quick search in Vienna and single family home prices go as low as $400k. Of course, it looks like anything in that price range will most likely be bank owned or a short sale. If you were willing to put some time and effort into fixing a home up - that might be an option for you.

If you would like to search for yourself, feel free to use my site. If you have any questions or you would like to see a property feel free to give me a call.

Nora,

Vienna is such a tough neighborhood to get into these days at a reasonable price. I grew up there and the prices have gone crazy since I was young. The schools are fantastic though and so is the proximity to DC. There are a lot of wonderful areas around there though that also have great schools. Your best bet is to find something that needs updating and reap the benefits of sweat equity. My mom is the #1 agent in the Tysons Office of Long and Foster and lived in Vienna for 10 years. You can reach her athttp:// www.Kormann.com. Good luck! We loved it there!

First you should research the schools that you are most interested in either though the Fairfax County Public School website or an independent site such as Great Schools.net. Then you contact an agent who will represent you as a buyers agent and help you find the best home for you based on your school choices. If you need assistance please let me know.
