I was told it was taken off the market but would be back in a month or so. What is the strategy behind this? Listing says the home was put up 8 days ago

Could be what we call TOM or temporarily off the market!!

Sometimes the seller wants to make updates or repairs to the property without having potential buyers see the mess. So, they take it off the market and do the changes and then return it to the market upon completion. There can be other reasons but this is commonly the reason.

I did that with one of my properties, needed to fix a few things after initial inspection, took it off market for 6 months to complete, after 6 months went back on market, sold in less than 24 hours..

What could be the reason for pulling a listing after 8 days and stating that it will be back on the market in a short period?
