Home in Murphy Vs Wylie

Asked by BuyingTips, Dallas, TX Sun Feb 10, 2013

I'm looking at buying a home in Murphy, then saw some homes in Wylie which is the next city. The home having the floor that I like is cheaper by $40,000 (Maxwell Creek Vs Preserve at Creekside Estates).

What I did not see as interesting is the tax rate of Wylie which is 2.8% compared to 2.5% in Murphy. What I like about Wylie is the schools are better. Am I right?

I would like to work with agents who have listed homes that are built 2004 or later in the Murphy, Wylie and Plano areas. Requirement: 4 Beds/3 Baths/1 Powder/GameRoom/Energy Efficient/GreenBuilt/ My agent can work with you if you are representing the seller.

If you have already hired a Realtor to represent you, they should be able to provide you with a list of pre-owned homes that meet your needs. I know you are also looking into new construction. Your agent should be able to help you find new construction homes that meet your needs as well.

Due to the lack of inventory available to sell, you will want to be ready to buy when you find the home that works for you. It is no longer a buyer's market in these areas, and you won't have the luxury of waiting to make an offer on a great home....if you wait, someone else will likely buy it.
