Janet,
Here is a link to a story about some of the legislative support for extending the first time home buyers tax credit. As of now it will expire at the end of November. We will have to wait and see what happens!

As so many others have repeated, we do not know anything for certain yet, and everything is speculation. I would be shocked if it wasn't extended ... and hopefully it will even be expanded! You will likely hear loud and clear when a decision is made, one way or the other.

I would believe if government were to announce it would be mid to late November.

If they posted extention it would take many home buyers off the market wait till after holidays and etc. However it has been a mad dash for these buyer hurry and close.

Only time will tell for sure but most experts agree there needs to be some sort of additional governmental support for the housing market and economy to continue their recovery.

Look for some sort of relief for the "short sale" market that at the current time presents a massive issue that needs to be addressed.

Nothing confirmed yet. Wouldn't be surprised that if the credit was to be extended that nothing would be said until the current credit expires.
