Hi there, What is typically a good score to have when applying for a mortgage and what kinds of things are the banks looking for?

You should be above 640. It's better to be higher than that but you should be able to get a loan with 640.

Thank you Ron, for taking the time to respond to my question. My husband and I both have scores over 700 and are currently looking to buy a home. We have almost all our ducks in a row, however now it is in the hands of the bank. The suspense is really tough,our closing date is set for July.

What would you consider a "good" Interest Rate?
If you're thinking about a "great" Interest Rate with a "good" Credit Score, think again.
Like the automobile commercials on TV where the fine print says; "not all people will qualify".

A good score would be 650.
