As my pals Allyson and Nina have both noted, without proper guidance you will probably spend a great deal of time looking at homes and areas that don't really fit since Santa Clara's housing market is both vast and, currently, highly in demand by many working professionals. And, your housing budget is in the range in which we are finding the majority of our buyers--which can mean pretty stiff competition when you are making offers.

I agree with Nina, in an unfamiliar area your best bet is to get with an agent that knows your area of interest, market conditions, and what is important to you. The properties you posted are nice, but you put in a 2 bedroom one, did you mean too? Your goal is not undoable, but you need to understand Santa Clara is a HOT MARKET so be prepared to face stiff competition.
