Hello Maya-in my opinion, you are taking a risk. If you have not closed the transaction yet, I highly recommend seeing a good, reputable real estate attorney.

Public records is where you may find the necessary information. Another resource is PropertyShark.com, sometimes easements and other judgements are listed with the property information. You should at this point have your preliminary title report, most information pertaining to liens and /or judgements are available. The Oakland county clerks office my also be able to provide you with the necessary information.

Good luck.
