Hey chweey
Though this isn't a hard and fast rule for "How much more is a true one bedroom vs converted studio." The reality is the following.
A one bedroom needs to have a window to the outside and a door to be considered a true one bedroom!
In some cases the owner/ realtor etc etc will represent a property as "one bedroom" to capture more exposure on marketing.. Yet the property is really a "studio"
Here is the final answer:
One bedroom over a Studio ? Really depends on the aquisition price of the unit!
if you getting a great deal on the Studio .. great buy the studio!
Perfect example of this situatuion are the 1500 Washington and 1500 Hudson St buildings in Hoboken, NJ...my group and I have one of the Studio/ One bedrooms in contract for Sale. These units are 800 SQF no wall or door .. Though they are great layouts.. they are still considered Studio's !
In short.. the numbers don't lie..
