There are many great neighborhoods in Las Vegas and Henderson. I recommend taking some time to drive around before you begin shopping. I also recommend to clients from out of town that they visit the neighborhood they're interested in on a Friday or Saturday night. Just park on the street and observe - you'll get a good idea of whether that neighborhood is right for you.

Hello Krassy,

There are lots of nice areas in town. It would depend on where you would prefer to live (close to work, near lots of amenities or a particular school zone, etc.) You can search Realtors.com and Goggle maps and narrow down the area and price range you are interested in. Also, you can search for properties through my website at http://www.carolsaucedo.com

I would be happy to personally customize a search criteria for you.

Hi Krassy!

Would you like to live near you job, parks, close to shopping and restaurants. You can see areas of Las Vegas or Henderson on Google maps, trulia or realtor.com.

Also, do you want to live in a subdivision with community pool, a gated community or prefer to have no homeowners association. Consider your budget, what price range of homes will you be looking at?

I would be happy to help you and you can search for homes and community info on my website at http://www.lindasellsvegashomes.com or feel free to call me at 702-280-4482.

I asked the same question when I was moving here 8 years ago. At that time, there wasn't a Trulia and no way to get help without a lot of long distance phone calls. So, I am happy to help you. Here are some of the things you should look for in choosing a property:

(1) what sort of community do you want?
(2) excellence of schools
(3) nearness to work or entertainment areas
(4) near hospitals, banks, airports, grocery stores, restaurants and places of worship.
(5) look over the neighborhood - does it give you a nice feeling when you come in.
(6) Do you want carefree living and ultimate security so that you can lock and leave and not worry about someone breaking into your home.
(7) Do you want guard gated security
(8) what is your budget
(9) what are you will to pay for an HOA
(10) do you see any upside potential to this neighborhood.

Here are some answers to these questions:

Summerlin and Henderson have some very beautiful areas as does the Northwest or Lake Las Vegas in the SE (LLV is a section of Henderson). In each of these large mega areas, there are smaller subdivisions which are quite lovely and might suit your needs. You might also look into the highrises as many people find that living in a highrise is just what suits them. Go over these questions and then look on Trulia for pictures of homes that are in these areas. You will find that the more you search online, the more knowledgeable you will become as to where you ultimately want to live. Please feel free to write or call at any time for further information.
