Hello! I am looking for houses in Easton. I wonder if there is an area in Easton that I should be away from.

Spoke with my brother in law. He said he does not know off hand of any issues with certain neighborhoods but will ask the women in the office Friday morning and get back to me.

My brother in law is the Principle Assessor there. I shall give him a call tomorrow and ask him. I will reply again as soon as I can. BEar with me if it takes an extra day to get back to you. I just had my gallbladder removed Wednesday afternoon and are not 100%. In the mean time feel free to use my free property search. Signing up is optional, not required. However, signing up does give you full addresses and email updates if you are interested in that.

Hi again Catalina:

I think we were so enthusiastic about Easton that we didn't fully address your question. Like every Town there are areas of the Town that you need to be aware of when making a decision about buying a home. A buyers agent working on your behalf will make you aware of those situations and you can make an informed decision for yourself. You don't want any surprises after the fact.
One issue in Easton is proximity to the abandoned rail bed. We may see a train go through Easton again, we may not. You will be presented with the facts regarding the issue and the proximity of the rail bed to the property you are looking at. Other issues to consider are proximity to gun clubs, proximity to capped land fills, areas in proximity to proposed building development, wet areas, cesspools, just to name a few. None of these issues may deter you from buying a home you love , but you need to have the information to make an informed decision.

Regards,

Rob

Hi Catalina,

I have also been a long time resident of Easton. My children are thriving in the school system and I am proud to live in this community. We have been voted the 48th Best Place to live in the Country! We have very low crime, are conveniently located to Cape Cod, Rhode Island, Boston and the Mountains. Our school system is outstanding. We are a college town (Stonehill College). We have a Natural Resource Trust and a State Park to name a few of our attributes.
You have chosen a great great town to look for a home. My partner Rob Goodwin has also answered your question. We are both highly educated and well respected Realtors in our town. Either of us would be more than happy to share our knowledge and love of our town with you. I can be reached at 508-510-0738. My web site is referenced below.
