I was told recently that while property values in the 97601 zip code have declined overall, waterfront and farm values have not declined. Is this true?

Fretx,

Kim is correct, value declines are specific to markets and property types and many things influence that. The commenter below is incorrect by saying that value have dropped across the board. Water front properties have held their value better than many other types of properties but there has been some slight decline. Generally the housing market has appreciated an average of 8% every year for the last 8 years. In the last few years the average home sale is actually only down by about 15% to 20%. That is less than 10% per year. The average sale in Klamath Falls has never been $300,000. The numbers that the commenter below is using is unrestricted and not real accurate. If you want to see accurate statistics, I would be glad to provide them for you. There are many signs of the market starting to strengthen. Typically the people like the commenter below who rely on do it your self info get left behind. It does not cost anything to get accurate information from a professional nor are you obligated in anyway to list your home. I privide information like this to my clients specific to their home all the time so that when they are ready to sell they are informed.

Hello,
Values are specific to the neighborhood, demand for that type of home, and many other factors. Home prices have adjusted over the past few years, and in general have come down. If there is a particular type of property you are interested in purchasing or selling, I can give you a more specific market analysis of the value.
I hope this is helpful. Take care.

No. Did a Realtor tell you that? Prices have dropped everywhere.

Looks like huge drop even in the water front areas.
