Has anyone used Heimer Engineers for a pre-purchase inspection of their coop purchase? What did you think of?

them? We're planning to buy into a garden apartment coop (built in 1950) in northeast Queens. Any comments & suggestions will be appreciated. Does anyone know when asbestos was no longer allowed in construction?

You can do an inspection but you may be better off with a Home Warranty. Keep in mind that in a co-op you only own shares of the corporation, and are not responsible for the building's roof, main pipes, main heating components, etc. With that said the decision to inspect or not is yours.
