both contracts accepting the offer and faxed them in as well as counter offers that both buyers accepted. It wasn't until 3 days later that he realized what he did, putting us nearly homeless with nowhere to go. Your thoughts?
Our MLS has a form that allows a seller to counter two offers, and provides who wins if both accept. Absent using that form, the agent is probably in big trouble. Personally I don't like doing that even with the form. I'd much perfer to pick and offer and counter it.
that is a new one for me... if you still want the house i agree you contact the principal broker to work things out or seek the advice of a real estate attorney. i wish you luck on your purchase.
Thanks, since the news came out we are looking for a new home. My biggest issue with the situation is we just felt led on by the guy and we're so excited to get our new home that family was driving by all the time, we started picking out paints and just preparing for our new life. We're moving on though.
I find it hard to believe that he realized only 3 days later that multiple signed offers were submitted and couter-offered and accepted! Obviously, this takes planning and preparation. My thoughts are that the agent assumed-one of the offers would be denied or withdrawn.
That type of activity is very wrong. It puts people in a very difficult position.
good afternoon.....do you stil want the home in question?.....if so, do a direct call to the agent's broker and explain to him/her your issue.....let them resolve it....if not..ask for your deposit back and go for another house w/ another agent..i hope that helps.....bob mcclure- mortgage now- farmington, michigan.....licensed in 19 states including your's........
