Has Charlotte Square HOA recovered from the issues of missing funds? Do the "Houses" have separate CC&Rs & budgets?

Asked by rosemaryw, Port Charlotte, FL Wed Oct 3, 2012

I've been looking at the condos for sale in Charlotte Square. I gather in 2008 there was concerned about the financial reserves and accounting. Did these concerns get resolved?

Charlotte Sq has had a difficult time but the worst is over. The reserves are building and the houses are in good repair. Each house has a different association so there is a different level of reserve funds.

You can still get great pricing there and the condos are very nice, safe and well maintained. They are close to services, shopping, the Cultural Center, library and 2 excellent hospitals. Charlotte Square residents must be over the age 55 and pets are not allowed.

Charlotte Square condos has Abbey House, Essex House, Berkley House, Oxford House, Chelsea House, Regency House, Cambridge House, and Raleigh House. I think they are now managed by Gateway Group. You can call them and ask specific questions about their finances and budget at 941-629-8190.
