My in-laws recently purchased a home for my fiancee and I, it's a foreclosure which they paid cash for. Their bid was accepted and papers were signed on April 24th and our closing date was set in the contract for May 6th. When the title did not come, the closing date was extended to May 22nd. It is now May 27th and we still have no title and no keys. The deed is in the hands of AHMSI and they are not sending it and will not give any reasons as to why. My in laws' realtor and their lawyer have no idea what is taking so long but I feel they should be calling these AHMSI people requesting them to send the title ASAP rather than just hoping it'll eventually come. Our new closing date is set for the first week of June but I'm afraid that once again, it will be pushed further away. Is this normal? Should we be pushing the realtor and/or lawyer to do more? Any advice would be great.
