First time home buyer

Asked by JWP10610, Terre Haute, IN Sat Jun 9, 2012

Hi, I'm currently looking to buy my first home. I was wondering what all mortgage lenders I should apply for if I don't really have any credit,I usually just buy everything out with cash. I just recently got a secure card to start helping me build credit. My credit score is 630 and my yearly income is about 45-50,000. I'm looking in the 50-55,000 range and I have 15,000 saved up for a down payment. Any tips I can get would help. Thanks.

I recommend you talk to your local bank (State Bank or Credit Union, etc). They might be able to approved an in-house loan for you. You will need 20% down payment in most cases
