Ecologic Lofts-(New project in the northern part of Bucktown, off of Fullerton). I'm interested in this

I'm interested in this property and will most likely be going in as a first time home buyer. What are your thoughts on the project, the developer, location, etc. I see this as a exciting new project but maybe over-hyped/overpriced with the green stigma. Let me know what you think. Do your homework. There's a lot of greenwashing going on in sleazy attempts to sell crap property. Find out what green standards they are applying to their project. I've seen many condos out there with very high percentages of exterior wall glazing and other un-green features which are being foisted on unwary buyers as 'eco-friendly'. Plus, that is the intersection from the seventh circle of hell itself. Anyone with any common sense tries to avoid it all cost. Why would you want to live on top of it?

Construction has not, I believe, started on this project. There's a sales center open that can give you some idea of what the units will be like.

If you need a Realtor, you should search for one offline rather than online.

jackofalltrades,
I think this is a pretty cool project. I like the interior of the units and I like the upgrades they put in there. I dont think it is outragous in price either. Have you personally been in a unit yet? I would go in a check it out for yourself to get a better feel. I would be happy to show it to you.

Green is the new in thing along with thrift and I don't know if I can think of a single development that isn't over priced right now.

If you're interested, I would be happy to sit down with you and look at the actual utlity savings you'll get by living in a green building and how it will effect your property values in the near and not so near future.
