Does the county have existing home building plans?

Hi Christina,

That really depends on the county. Building an planning departments usually have plans once someone applies for a permit that requires them. They are called as builts or existing plans. Most building and planning departments are either city or county. The majority came into existence after the majority of the homes in that city or county where built. So they may not have plans on all properties in their jurisdiction unless the city or county did something legislative wise to acquire and require those plans. You may go to your city/county office and find only a plat (lot) map for your property unless previous owner did things to that property that required a permit.
