Take a look at the pacifica community in carrboro. There is a townhome #147 Viburnum Way for sale. It is passive solar, radiant floors, and solar panels. It is a cohousing community.

Are you still looking for passive solar homes? I searched the MLS listings and found 4 homes listed, though 1 is in the Orange County school system. Are you interested in buying one that is already built or have you considered building one or retrofitting a house?

It looks like you are interested in Carrboro--is that correct? Is it for work, the community or the schools?

Hope you've found what you wanted.

Hi!
I have a rather unique proposed construction listing in the Solterra co-housing community in Durham. The location is teriffic ,off Erwin Rd. close to Duke and UNC but it feels like the country. The builder has a house picked out to build but you could have your own plan designed. The house will have some active solar elements including solar hot water. The home will be LEED certified and full of energy saving features. Give me a call or email and we can talk about options and pricing. Here is a link to the page on my web site. http://www.howright.com/PageManager/Default.aspx/PageID=2110…

There are reputable green builders in the area that can build a passive solar home to your specifications. There are a multitude of options that can be included in a certified green home, including of course passive solar design. With the federal and state tax credits available for solar water heaters and solar photovoltaic systems, the extra cost of features like these can be significantly reduced for anyone interested in incorporating solar energy in their home.
