I think that I answered this question once before on trulia. I have lived in Franklin for the last 19 years. I raised my kids here and they attended the Franklin public schools. It is an awesome town to live in and raise your family. Crime is very low. It is a nice little college town.It is near 495 and and you can easily take a train into boston. The people are very friendly, and the schools are excellent. Our tax rate is pretty good , considering other towns. You can walk almost anywhere in Franklin. Franklin has the first established public library in the country. It was also voted by Family Circle magazine, as the 10th most kid friendly town in the country. I have never regretted living or working in Franklin. Contact me if I can be of help.
Morgan,
Franklin is an AWESOME place to raise a family! Kathy quotes two very relevant articles. Here's a link to the CNN/Money article: http://tinyurl.com/2uopa4 Also, check out the website I created for a listing of mine that I just put under agreement at: http://www.30jefferson.com There is a video on the homepage which shows a little bit about the town and there is also a video I did that won my sellers $21,000 in a recent national marketing contest under the "Steak" tab. Feel free to call/e-mail if you have any other questions about Franklin, but if you're looking for good schools and family friendly, you can't go wrong in Franklin! (check out http://greatschools.net as well). Good Luck!

The Franklin school system is very good and shows statistics that 98% go on to college from high school, 1% go directly to work and the last 1% enter the military or other endeavor. The taxes have remained consistently low and the home values are strong. The town is so desirable to raise a family that it was noted as one of top 10 towns in the country by Family Circle magazine. Also Money Magazine separately chose Franklin, MA as one of its top 10 of 100 towns in the country to "live and launch". If you Google the words Franklin, MA you will find a wealth of articles. My website: franklinmahomes.com is also very helpful regarding resources.
