IS IT possible to get charged for two city taxes we are trying to purchase a home at first they told us it was going to pay bexar taxes and now that we are closing they said we have to pay bexar taxes and medina taxes

Yes it is possible to be taxed by both cities if you fall within the lines of each of the city limits but that should have been disclosed to you very early in the process of buying this home by your lender and realtor. Good luck!

It is very possible, if part of the property falls in the Media County District, and another part falls in the Bexar County district... you may see taxers from both counties... Usually, the title company does a Tax Certification prior to closing, and once they have all the tax certs in, then they provide that to your lender. In most cases, your lender would need to redisclose all the costs to you and what your new estimated payment would be based on the tax certs.

Depending on how much of the property is actually in the other district... you may protest the amount being charged once a year... Take the primary tax statement with you (the one that is taxing the part of the land that has the actual house on it) In most cases, the taxes on the land only part will be pretty small at best... But you shouldn't have to pay full blown property taxes to include the improvements, unless those improvements are actually on both sides of the county lines... That being the case, I would protest both sides to lower the amount...

It can get a little crazy, but should end up being pretty normal when all the red tape is done.

Yes it is possible. If you are buying on the outskirts of Bexar county where the neighboring county provides services like school, fire, police it is Possible. That should have been disclosed prior to closing. Often the sellers disclosure will tell you if you are taxed by to Authoritys. Your lender should have also looked the home up when determining your monthly payment taxes are looked at also?
