After 4 months of looking for the right home for my family and I, I finally found the one that I truely love. I submitted my offer above the asking price and the seller has until this afternoon to respond to my offer. I am so axious to know if my offer has been accepted that I wonder if the selling agent would tell me whether my offer has been accepted or not if I call her and ask.
Your Realtor has an obligation to you to represent you in the purchase of this house. Calling the Seller's agent direct could compromise your position and possibly change the response you were going to get. There is a definite benefit to having arms length transactions, as it does not reveal your position and helps ensure the best possible deal for YOU! I have sold many house over the years and things have a funny way of working for the best. You are paying your agent, so let them work for you. Ethically they are bound to get you the best deal possible and that is not always being the lowest or the fastest. Time may be on your side....
Take care
Have your buyers agent contact listing agent determine facts involved. Never contact listing agent direct you can make a huge mistake off a statement which can cost you money. Good luck on sales offer, return update us here on Trulia if seller agreed !

Gifted,
We're not quite sure why you wouldn't want your real estate agent to do this. This is part of their responsibility.
Additionally, this has the potential of creating confusion. The fewer people involved the less complicated it will be. Our recommendation is to keep your distance and let your RE professional do their job without creating confusion.
Well, your agent should tell you immediately. There is something called "Time is of the Essence" and as a Realtor we are required to work by this code when we are working an offer...from the time we write the contract until closing. If you feel excited or anxious, by all means, call her. That is what you enlisted her services for in the first place. That is her job...to answer your questions and keep YOU happy! Realtors serve their clients. So pick up that phone and call her!
Good Luck!
