Contract termination after inspection

Asked by sr, Ellington, CT Mon Apr 15, 2013

Hi, I recently had an inspection done on the home, it has some repairs. The repairs can be done by the seller but I am uncomfortable as the repairs are to the roof, HVAC and others.

Can I terminate the contract, by giving seller the notice?

Thanks in advance

If you give them written notice before the Inspection Deadline Date on your contract. You need to be discussing this with your agent asap. Critical area!!

Are you working with a realtor? They should be able to answer these questions for you. Do you have a lawyer yet? Email me at aadadjo@gmail.com and i can see if you are able to get out of it and help you find another house.

You can if you had your Realtor include an Inspection Contingency:
This would allow flexibility to re-negotiate or walk away.
Otherwise; you are bound by the term of your Purchase Agreement.

The contract mentions something about good repair and reaching to mutual agreement
