Maryanne,

Having been from Jacksonville to Key West and Naples to Pensacola and most points in between I know the state very well. There are some amazing places to call home but many differences in weather, lifestyle and landscape; stay below Vero Beach on the east coast and Sarasota on the west coast if you want the best winter weather. The best place I can point you is a brief blog I did about the Jupiter area;

http://tompriester.wordpress.com/2010/06/04/jupiter-rocks/

As a resident of Jupiter, I work throughout Palm Beach and Martin Counties, and a great place to start is by defining your goals and comparing the lifestyles and housing costs of areas that you are interested in. There are so many different options available to us that reside in the state and I have selected Jupiter because of the quality of life that we enjoy. From my viewpoint, there is no finer place to reside that the Jupiter area; from the best schools, to a fantastic economy fueled by many factors and of course the wonderful facilities of Max Planck and Scripps Institute, to incredible unspoiled beaches, unbelievable dining and shopping options, numerous boating and golf opportunities, uncrowded streets, low crime and just the overall kindness of our residents. Recently we were out with a client form New York who commented on just how nice everyone is; and why not as we are truly lucky to live in Paradise.

I work almost entirely as a buyers agent in Palm Beach and Martin Counties and certainly would be honored to be on the list of Realtors® you interview and happy to be of assistance in any way that I can. If you are in the area and would like a tour I would enjoy showing you why I am so fortunate to call Jupiter my hometown.

I hope this information is helpful but if you need anything additional please do not hesitate to give me a call.

Maryanne,

Brevard County is a wonderful place to retire, and is one of the most affordable beachside areas on the east coast! The medical services are fantastic, with a tertiary care hospital(my husband's a physician!), and 6 major hospitals spread throughout the county. The climate is wonderful, a little more moderate than south Florida! Depending on where your interests lie, there are several beautiful 55+ communities that are gated, with community pools, recreation centers, and/or golf course/country club, full-time on-site recreation directors. If that's not what you're looking for, you can find beautiful newer pool homes for as low as the low 100's in the beautiful Suntree area, with a wide selection in Suntree and Viera for under the low $200's. I included a sampling of lower priced pool homes in Suntree and Viera (a really nice part of Brevard County, near shopping, dining, movies, theater..) in the link below. If you can't click on it, just cut and paste into web browser. If you are more interested in an oceanfront or riverfront condo, there are many beautiful ones to choose from starting in the $200,000 range. If you would like a newer condo in a gated community with a community pool, this can be found for as low as the low $100's in Viera to the $170's in Indialantic, on the barrier island, walking distance to the beach.

So, basically there are tremendous affordable choices, and I would be glad to fine tune it and send you more listings meeting your needs if you let me know your budget and other criteria such aspreferred location (beach vs mainland), preference of house vs condo, # bedrooms, minimum square footage, 1 or 2 car or no garage...

Hi Maryannec,

I have a tool that will help you. Of course, I will recommend St. Lucie County because of the beautiful beaches, affordable housing, low crime, etc. There is a tool on my website that is called Market INSIDer. It will allow you to compare areas by zip code. It is full of demographic information and I don't mind if you use it (free) of course.
just go to: http://www.RonandDebbieAlbertKWRealty.com and sign in. click on the Market Insider tab, while you are there you can search 7800 (Tradition) 7600 (St. Lucie West) and 7370 Torino/St. James area. All three are great. you might also want to check out 34949 which is the beach area. Then you can compare to other areas and be able to make the decision that suits your needs the best. If it should be our area, we would love to meet.

Hi Maryanne,

Brevard County is a great place to live!
If you like beachside living, I'd say Satelitte Beach South to Melbourne Beach is a great area. Indian Harbor, Indiatlantic etc. If you like newer single family homes but close to everything, Viera is newer with lots of masterplanned communities, great for second home or primary residence. Visit my website to view the MLS and many communities for free. Thank you
