Can someone please give me a simple calculation method to estimate property taxes when searching properties? Thanks very much :)

Keep in mind that property taxes do vary by exact location, schools, size, upgrades, etc.; therefore consider working with an agent who can provide any necessary information.

I do not have a simple calculation for you but you can always go onto http://www.NYC.gov and look up the property tax on any property in the five boroughs. It show the property tax and how it was calculated. To make it even easier for you click on this link:

NYC Dept. of Finance provides online access to property taxes:


You'll need to locate the Block and Lot number first, which you can do on the same site. Once you have that you can look up the property and view the most recent tax bill.
