Can i be able to purchase a home again after filing for bankruptcy 4 years ago?

Asked by whatman360, Burlington, NJ Mon May 13, 2013

I have been renting for the past 4 years without any problems. I make 75,000 a year and my wife started working bringing an extra 30,000. My score dropped 200pts due to the bankruptcy. Can I buy or just stay renting ?

Just spoke with a mortgage representative today exactly about that, I was told 2 years after a bankruptcy you can get a mortgage as long as your credit score is within the guidelines.

Your best answer would come from a mortgage representative, I have several that I can connect you with if you would like. Please reach out to me as soon as possible so that you can perhaps get on your way to owning a home.

In some cases yes with a large enough down payment!

Check with a mortgage professional. My understanding is it takes 7 years after a bankruptcy.
