Look at crime stats on the govt website. You will have to drive through areas and get a feel for what feels right for you. Your price range and wants and needs. Every city has desirable and not so desirable areas. It is all relative to what you want.
Call or email me and I would be happy to help narrow down your search based on your requirements. As a whole neither North Port nor Port Charlotte is a high crime area, but that is just my opinion. You'll have to go to the city websites to get actual data.
Good Luck!

North Port and Port Charlotte is a great place to live. I am an agent in North Port, I also live here. Would you like me to send you some listings and area information?

Swansea, MA! I lived in Millis Ma for a very long time.

North Port and Port Charlotte are both nice towns and have some wicked good deals right now (trying to keep up with your lingo). If safety is a big concern, look at homes in gated communities. A petty theif is less likley to enter and they tend to have a stronger sense of community.

Hi Eugene,
Have you thought about Cape Coral, just south of those areas?? Here is the info for our police so you can get crime stats. http://www.capecoral.net/Government/PoliceDepartment/AboutUs…

We have some really great deals right now in our waterfront wonderland. Let me know if I can get you additional information on the area.

Best of luck,

Hello Eugene,
Crime seems to be a problem everywhere because of the economy, but I live in North Port and feel very comfortable with just using the normal expected precautions against crime. If you would like some more information on our area, please feel free to call me anytime.

Good Morning Eugene,

Every place has its good areas and not so desirable areas. While no Realtor can tell you which areas have low crime, we can direct you to the local sheriff's office http://www.ccso.org/ where you can find out this information.
Contact me and when exploring different areas that fit your search criteria, you will be able to identify which areas are good for you and which are not.

Good Luck.
