Not to confuse you, however, in this economy, there are so many custom homes in foreclosure and short sale, that are sold at a fraction of the cost of building from scratch (if you are building custom), that I recommend looking into resale as a financially wise move.
If you would like a tract home (non custom), those are still being built at a price that is within the market, and I'd be honored to recommend one who stands head and shoulders above the rest for many reasons.
I realize that was not a direct answer, however, if I can save you potentially tens of thousands of dollars, I would sleep better at night.
