Hi Samantha,

Yes, you can!

Currently, there are 7 condos on the market under $500,000. Mostly 2 bedrooms, but there is a 3 bedroom short sale priced at $350,000.

You may want to consider the HOA fees "Home Owners Association fees" that are paid monthly in addition to your mortgage amount. For these 7 units the HOA fees range from $550- $950/month depending on the complex and unit.

I am happy to help you with any other questions regarding Malibu condos... or surrounding areas: Calabasas, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, or Agoura.

I don't like to sugar coat things, but your chances are pretty slim. Condos in that price range DO exist, but they are rare and get snatched up pretty quickly.
Lots of students who go to Pepperdine University have generous parents. :)
So act quick if you find one!

Samantha by now I would have hoped you found a Condominium five years later the question is still valid, maybe not for you but for other buyers. First priority is to work with a Realtor who is quick to respond to your needs. Find one on this platform and work with that Realtor and when a property comes on the market do not wait too long since other buyers might be looking for the same search parameter.

Hi Samantha,

You sure can. Not only can you find a condo in Malibu for less than $500,000, you can find one with ocean views! I have a great one coming on the market soon with ocean views that will be listed around $450K and at the height of the market were trading around $800K. Also, a great investment as the unit gets high rents.

Feel free contact me if you would like to know more:

Maybe. Not in the past couple of years but prices have been inching down. A one-bedroom under $500k, you can do. Just these days, a 2-bedroom is at the low end at $500k.
