Wauconda is good if you stay in the Fremont School Dist #79. I will be placing my home in Mundelein up for sale. 5 bedroom 3.5 bath 2 car garage. Walking distance to the high school. Everything is updated except the master bath. If there are no realtors involved we could both save money!!!!!

FYI we jsut listed a home in Wauconda on Ivanhoe Road you maybe interested in. 4 bedrooms 4 baths, 3 car garage, 1.25 acres, in law suite for 330,000. Let me know if you would like to see it.

I can only assume you are not considering townhomes. Another option mybe Gurnee and to some extent Lindenhurst. Drive times would be compareable to Wauconda and you would have a few more options to consider. If you would like me to email some of these homes to you let me know. My email is Paul@JPMackey.com.

Thank you for the advice. My office will be in Mettawa and hence do not need access to 94. I am looking to buy a home in the range of $300k. Thinking about the following options:

- Buying a new home in Wauconda (affordable in my price range)
(or) - Buying a recent (5 year old) homes in Vernon Hills or Licolnshire or any other community near to Mettawa (I searched for new homes in the near-by communities and couldn't find any).

Appreciate your advice and thoughts on this.

Wauconda is a solid choise overall. Only possible downside would be access to 94. If using 12 works then by all means consider Wauconda. On JPMackey.com there are many community resources that will provide School info and other important Community info...
